Dr Abdullah Al-Turki, the Secretary General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), held a meeting here today with Dr Mohammed Sayyed Tantawi, the Sheikh of the Cairo-based Al-Azhar University. The meeting was attended by Dr Jaffar Abdel-Salam, the Secretary General of the League of the Islamic Universities. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Tantawi highlighted the role of Al-Azhar in the field of Islamic call and dialogue with followers of other religions. He noted that about 25,000 students are studying at Al-Azhar and are engaged in various specializations. Dr Tantawi voiced keenness on enhancing cooperation between the MWL and Al-Azhar in domains of the joint Islamic work.
