Three rockets were rained on the Pakistani city of Peshawar early Sunday with one of them hitting the house of a local politician, located across the street just 20 meters from the U.S. Consulate, causing no casualties, police said. It is not known who fired the rockets. No individual or group claimed the responsibility. The second rocket fell in a street while the third hit an empty house, police said. One rocket struck the house of Bashir Ahmed Bilour, a prominent leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) opposed to the Pakistani Taliban and the operation of Pakistani security forces in the tribal areas. Peshawar residents said they were awakened by the bangs around four a.m. Sunday.
