The Arab Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, concluded today its 74th session in Jeddah. The Committee's session was held at the level of Finance and Economy Ministers and Governors of Central Banks. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was led, on behalf of Finance Minister Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, by the Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), Hamad Al-Sayyari who chaired the session. In a press statement, Al-Sayyari pointed out that the issue of disengagement between Saudi riyal and U.S. dollar was discussed and it was unanimously agreed on the continuation of the current exchange rate policy without change, adding there is no need to change the exchange rate policy at the present time. --More
