A two-day conference aimed at establishing a framework for integrated transport infrastructure and services in Arab Gulf countries by 2020 will be held in Doha, Qatar between May 19 and 20, 2008, Saudi Gazette reported today. Titled "Transport Vision 2020," the meeting will be attended by regional and international technical and financial experts, said Abdulrahim Hasan Naqi, Secretary General of the Federation of the GCC Chambers of the Commerce and Industry. Among the speakers during the conference are Amr A. Dabbagh, Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA); Saudi Deputy Transport Minister Abdulaziz Al-Ohaly; Saudi Labor Minister Ghazi Al-Gosabi; Mohammad Al-Qunaibet, Saudi Shoura Council Vice Chairman of Economic and Energy Affairs; Ali Al-Karni, Vice President of the Saudi Railways Organization, and Abdulaziz Y. Al-Babutain, SAGIA Director for Transportation. The establishment of an integrated GCC land transport company will also be discussed in the meeting.
