A Palestinian boy was killed on Saturday in renewed clashes in Gaza City between Hamas police forces and a local clan, while one Palestinian was killed and one wounded after an Israeli naval gunship shelled their boat, according to DPA. The death of the 13-year-old boy, who was caught in a crossfire between the sides, came hours after a member of the Helles family that has been fighting against Hamas since Wednesday was killed in eastern Gaza City. The fresh wave of violence has raised the total death toll to seven since Wednesday. A fragile ceasefire deal reached on Thursday collapsed Saturday morning. Ihab al-Ghussein, spokesman for the Interior Ministry in the Hamas administration, said a group of the movement's military wing was returning from their position near the Israeli border when a member of the Helles clan tried to fire an RPG shell at them. "The shell exploded before being fired and killed the launcher," al-Ghussein said, adding that three members of the al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas were wounded by other clan gunmen. Hamas claims the family, which is affiliated with the rival Fatah movement, refused to hand over weapons and cars belonging to the former security services that controlled the Gaza Strip before Hamas' June takeover of the salient. Meanwhile at least one Palestinian was killed and one wounded on Saturday after an Israeli naval gunship shelled their fishing boat off the Gaza coast, Palestinian police and medical sources reported. Hamas police did not elaborate on why the Israeli ship opened fire. There was no immediate Israeli army response to the incident.
