Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, held here yesterday evening an iftar party. The party was attended by Arab and Muslim accredited ambassadors to Britain in addition to some members of the Houses of Commons, the Council of Lords, Islamic dignitaries and heads of the Islamic centers and societies. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Mohammed underlined the importance of adherence to the teachings of Islam which advocates love and humanity. He said it is an essential matter to confront those why try to defame Islam, and to prove that Islam is the religion of peace, tolerance and dialogue. Prince Mohammed reiterated that Saudi Arabia has been unwaveringly confronting extremism which leads to violence. He pointed out that it is the duty of the Muslim notably who are residing in the UK to work against fanaticism, and said Saudi Arabia will extend support to efforts which might be exerted in this respect. On his part, Lord Nazeer Ahmad, speaking on behalf of the guests, expressed appreciation for inviting them to attend the iftar party. He urged the Muslims to adhere to the teachings of tolerance and fraternity which are advocated by Islam.
