German industrial production rose more than expected in August, data released Tuesday showed, adding to expectations that Europe's biggest economy should remain on a growth track despite a recent bout of economic uncertainty, reported dpa. Output in Germany increased by 1.7 per cent in August, data released by the Ministry of Economics and Technology showed. Analysts had predicted a rise of 0.5 per cent. Helping to boost industrial production in the country was a two per cent increase in the nation's building sector. In releasing the data, the ministry also revised up slightly the August increase in production from 0.1 per cent to 0.2 per cent.
