Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan arrived in Damascus on Saturday at the start of a Mideast tour to discuss the possibilities for peace in the region, AP reported. Babacan met with his Syrian counterpart Walid Moualem and they discussed the peace process, stressing the importance of a comprehensive agreement guaranteeing the return of Arab occupied land, including the Golan Heights, according to the official SANA news agency. The two ministers also expressed their desire to maintain neighboring Iraq's territorial integrity and independence.
