Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the governor of Makkah region and the director general of King Faisal Charitable Foundation, chaired here last night the joint meeting of the Foundation's board of trustees and general assembly. Following the meeting, Prince Khalid bin Saud bin Khalid, the deputy director general of the Foundation, said the participants of the meeting were briefed on the Foundation's financial report. He noted that the Foundation's revenues, including the donations and the investments, amounted to sr 146.95 million. Prince Khalid pointed out that the meeting has decided establishment of an institute for the strategic studies as an affiliate to King Faisal Islamic research center. He said the institute will conduct strategic studies which serve the interests of the Kingdom as well as the interests of the Arab and Muslim countries. 'The institute will do its best to project Islam in its proper manner and will work to give a real idea about the Kingdom without a governmental efforts', he added. Prince Khalid said the meeting had also reviewed the ongoing arrangements to organize a conference and an exhibition on Late King Faisal by King Abdulaziz Center during this year. Meanwhile, the meeting unanimously appointed Mohammed al-Faisal as the chairman of the Foundation's board of trustees and general assembly. Asked about the possibility of increasing the branches of King Faisal International Prize, Prince Khalid said the Foundation is not planning to increase the number of the branches, adding that the existing five branches are enough.
