More than 65 insurgents died Tuesday night in fighting between Afghan and coalition troops and Taliban militants in southern Afghanistan, the U.S.-led coalition said Wednesday. The six-hour battle occurred after an attempted ambush on a patrol near Kakrak village in Uruzgan province, and troops fought as many as 80 militants, CNN reported.
