Russian President Vladimir Putin named the new Russian government headed by Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov Monday evening, Interfax news agency reported from Moscow , according to DPA. Current deputy prime ministers Sergei Ivanov and Dmitry Medvedev are to remain in the cabinet, while new ministers would take up the economics, social and regional development portfolios, Interfax quoted Putin as saying. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will also remain in office, as will Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov, whose resignation Putin refused to accept.
