A mission of Saudi Fund For Development (SFD) led by consultant Fawzi bin Olayan Al-Saud headed today to the Mauritanian town of Tanitan, 750 kms east of Nouakchott, to evaluate the size of damage caused by floods and to get acquainted with the site of the new city scheduled to be built in the area to replace the flood- damaged city. The SFD mission is part of the financial assistance ordered by the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to be dispatched to Mauritania. The Saudi assistance ordered by the King includes a grant of $20 Million, 400 tons of ready-made foodstuffs and other relief materials.
