A number of ambassadors have greeted the Saudi leadership and people on the Kingdom's 77th National Day and wished the country constant progress and prosperity. In London, Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz has congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz on this happy occasion of the National Day. "On this day, the late King Abdulaziz successfully united the country," he said. On his part, Saudi ambassador to Japan Faisal Tarrad said this occasion will enable the new generations to get acquainted with the intensive efforts exerted by the late King Abdulaziz. Highlighting the great achievements accomplished under the wise Saudi leadership, Tarrad said the Kingdom which is keen on enhancing the global peace, security and stability, has earned a good reputation at the Arab, Islamic and international arenas. Tarrad noted the friendly relations between the Kingdom and Japan, and said contacts between the two sides began in 1938 while the diplomatic relations were established in 1955. Tarrad underlined the importance of the visit paid by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz to Japan in April 2006 and the recent visit paid to the Kingdom by Japanese former premier. Saudi ambassador to Iran Osama Al-Sanousi said the national day stands as a symbol for unity and solidarity, he said. Dr Abdulaziz al-Fayez, the Saudi ambassador to Kuwait, said the national day reminds the people with the efforts exerted by their forefathers to unify the country. Saudi ambassador to the UAE Dr Abdullah bin Muammar said the unification of the Kingdom was one of the most important achievements in the history. The ambassador highlighted the existing fraternal relations between the Kingdom and the UAE.
