The War Crimes Chamber of Bosnia-Herzegovina's State Court on Wednesday sentenced Bosnian Croat Kreso Lucic to six years jail for war crimes during the 1992-1995 war, according to DPA. Lucic was found guilty of unlawfully arresting six Bosnian Muslim civilians in June and July 1993, while he was commander of the Croat Militia (HVO) Military Police in the central Bosnian town of Kresevo, the Sarajevo-based court said in a statement. He was also convicted of torturing a number of detained Muslims at the Kresevo headquarters of the military police in the same period. Lucic, 32, was detained in April last year. The time he spent in custody would count towards his sentence, the court ruled. Earlier today members of Bosnia's State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) detained in the western town of Cazin Bosnian Muslim Suad Kapic, suspected of war crimes against Bosnian Serb civilians during the 1992-1995 war in Bosnia.
