Six persons died and one was seriously injured in a Ukrainian road crash, officials at the Ministry of Emergency Situations said Monday. The accident took place shortly after midnight on a highway in the eastern Poltava region when an Alfa Romeo car struck a VAZ-2106 head-on. One of the seven persons in both vehicles survived. Police were investigating the cause of the accident. Possible grounds included excess speed, a mechanical failure, or driver drowsiness, DPA reported.
