The Deputy Chairman of Lebanese Supreme Shiite Islamic Council Sheikh Abdelamir Qabalan received here today Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja. During the meeting, they discussed the overall current developments at the Lebanese internal arena, particularly the presidential elections in Lebanon. Following the meeting, Dr. Khoja told reporters that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not interfere in the Lebanese presidential elections. He also stressed that the Kingdom does not have a candidate and does not interfere in these matters at all in any country, saying that "these are Lebanon's sovereign affairs and we have no candidate". Khoja said that "the Kingdom hopes that the matter should be done according to constitutional methods as well as the agreement of the Lebanese people". He also said that he discussed with Sheikh Qabalan many issues, especially after the Sheikh's visit to the Kingdom where he met the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He pointed out that the impression of Sheikh Qabalan was very excellent where he felt the leading role of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques not only in the Arab world, but in the Islamic world.
