A Norwegian passenger ferry was evacuated early Tuesday after it hit a breakwater off the port of Hirtshals, northern Denmark, reports said, according to dpa. None of the 150 passengers or 64 crew members, who were all evacuated, were reported hurt. Some sections of the hull were damaged and ferry operator Kystlink said it had cancelled further traffic with the Pride of Telemark pending repairs. Salvage pumps have been deployed since part of the hull was damaged in the accident and the ferry took in water at the quay it was towed to. The accident was attributed to strong winds, causing the ferry apparently to hit some boulders in the breakwater. The vessel subsequently lost power. The ferry was en route to Hirtshals from Langesund, Norway. Some 50 trucks and other vehicles remained onboard.
