Two buses filled with passengers collided and burst into flames on a road in northern Nigeria, killing 33 people, state-owned radio said on Saturday. Radio Nigeria said the crash on Friday afternoon occurred on the Gusau-Sokoto road _ some 700 kilometers (435 miles) northwest of the country's capital, Abuja _ when one of the buses crashed into the other while avoiding a stray animal. All the occupants of both vehicles were killed, the report said, citing witnesses.
