Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh has recorded an international medical achievement following the discovery of a hereditary gene which causes /Walker and Ruberg Symptom/ leading to the death of Saudi infants in the first days of birth as a result of injury to their nervous systems, eyes and muscles. The discovery came after several years of research by the hospital's medical team aiming to reveal the reasons for the death of Saudi newborn babies through the results of genetic tests. The head of the hospital's outpatient clinics and pediatric consultant Dr. Abdullah Abu Malha who is also a member of the research medical team pointed out that the discovery of these ill genes came after several years of molecular nuclear analyses at international research centers in Netherlands, the United States of America and Australia. Dr. Abu Malha noted that the disease can be early detected in normal pregnancy by conducting genetic tests of samples of fetal cells for infected newborn babies, indicating that pregnancy can be terminated in the early stages according to religious rules.
