Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt Friday said he had "a very good dialogue" with some 20 ambassadors from Muslim countries where they discussed freedom of speech and that of of religion, DPA reported. The meeting came after criticism following the publication of a caricature of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) along with an editorial on freedom of speech and religion in the regional Nerikes Allehanda newspaper last month. The publication has sparked criticism from Muslims and others in and beyond Sweden. Reinfeldt said the ambassadors had not made any demands and that the Swedish government was carefully monitoring reactions abroad, especially in Arab-language media. "Reactions continue," Reinfeldt said, adding, "an experience from previously is that misunderstandings easily occur, and I want to be proactive in every manner I can to ensure that this does not take an unfortunate course." After their 45-minute meeting, the diplomats and premier expressed satisfaction over the tone of the discussion. The ambassadors said they appreciated the premier's visit to a main mosque in Stockholm earlier this week and a meeting with members of the Muslim community.
