A fishing boat capsized in rough seas in the Strait of Gibraltar on Wednesday, leaving three crew members dead and five missing, AP quoted Spanish maritime rescue officials as saying. Another vessel managed to rescue eight crew members from the stricken boat, based in the southern town of Barbate, said the Maritime Rescue headquarters in nearby Tarifa. The fishing boat Nueva Pepita Aurora flipped over in seas with 3-4 meter (10-13 foot) waves and winds gusting at up to 80 kilometers per hour (50 mph), rescue center director Adolfo Serrano, said. The boat was registered in Spain, but the nationality of the crew members was not immediately known, Serrano said. The vessel ended up floating upside down in the water.
