Qatar ruled out Tuesday an increase in OPEC oil production ceiling when the organization meets in Vienna this month, according to dpa. Qatar's minister of energy and industry, Khalid bin Hamad al-Atiya, said: "The market is now in a state of equilibrium; I do not think OPEC will focus on this point in its next meeting." Al-Atiyah told journalists at a regional oil meeting held in Qatar there were no signs in the market indicationg a shortage in supplies. Al-Atiya said the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries would boost its oil output only in response to a big need in the market for a rise in oil supply.
