United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki- moon arrived in Sudan on Monday for an official visit during which he is to visit the country's conflict-torn Darfur region, DPA reported. Ban's visit will particularly focuss on finding a solution to Darfur crisis and on Wednesday he will visit a refugee camp in the region in western Sudan. Peacekeeping troops from the UN and the African Union are to ensure stability in Darfur in the coming year. After talks in Sudan, the UN chief is due to travel to neighbouring Chad and Libya.
