President Vladimir Putin signed a decree Sunday setting December 2 as the date for Russia's next parliamentary vote and marking the beginning of the election campaign for the lower house. The election will be held for the 450-seat State Duma. Members of the 176-seat upper house, the Federation Council, are selected in their respective regions, the Associated Press reported. The Duma vote in December will be followed three months later by presidential elections.
