The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar Obeid Madani stressed that the measures for technical communications preparing for opening the Saudi embassy in Baghdad are still under way. He commended the warm reception accorded to the Saudi delegation during its visit to Iraq and full cooperation from all Iraqi officials. In a joint press conference held here today with Secretary General of Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah at the conclusion of the 104th session of the ministerial council of GCC foreign ministers, Dr. Madani said that the Saudi delegation's visit to Baghdad is the first step on the track of re-opening the Saudi embassy in Iraq. He pointed out that a study is underway on the report submitted by the delegation and in accordance with available information of the report we will take the next steps to open the embassy. --More
