Israeli conflict according to Arab Peace Initiative, its principles and movement plan and political framework set by Arab Peace Initiative Committee. The council supported the convention of the international conference recently called for by U.S. President George W. Bush, stressing that all parties concerned with peace process should attend the conference. It welcomed the positive elements in President Bush's address on commitment to setting up two states, establishing an independent Palestinian state, demanding the halt of settlement and ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. On Lebanon, the council called on all Lebanese parties to return to national dialogue and unification of ranks, to respect the legitimate political process and the Lebanese constitution including the holding of presidential election in a free and impartial way in its set time. Regarding the situation in Sudan, it welcomed the decision of UN security council to deploy a joint force of the United Nations and African Union in Darfur region. On Somalia, the council welcomed the convention of national reconciliation started last July.
