A delegation of the Iranian energy ministry was briefly detained by US troops in Baghdad, reports said Wednesday, according to dpa. The delegation members, who were supposed to sign an energy agreement with their Iraqi counterparts, were arrested in Baghdad's Sheraton hotel and transferred in four vehicles to an unknown venue, Iran's state news agency IRNA reported. The delegation was released a few hours later after the intervention of the Iraqi government, the BBC reported.
