Burger King Holdings Inc recorded profits in the fourth quarter, overcoming losses in the year earlier period, the world's second largest fast food restaurant chain said Friday, according to DPA. Burger King earned 36 million dollars, or 26 cents per share, in the fourth quarter that ended June 30. A year earlier, the restaurant chain had lost 10 million dollars, or 8 cents per share, the Miami based company said. Revenues increased 11 per cent to 590 million dollars in the quarter. Yearly revenues were up 9 per cent to 2.2 billion dollars, and profits more than quadrupled to 148 million dollars, or 1.08 dollars per share. The chain opened 441 restaurants in the 2006-7 business year, and now operates 1,303 outlets and oversees 9,980 franchises.
