The Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCC) will convene a summit of secretary generals of all chambers of commerce and industry in the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council in Salalah, Oman from August 25-26 to discuss the priority projects and development programs for the year 2008. This was disclosed by Abdulrahim Hasan Naqi, the secretary general of the FGCC, according to a report published today by Saudi Gazette in its business page. The meeting, which will be attended by the heads of the Council of chambers from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, will map out unified strategies as regards the role of the private business sector in the gulf region, Naqi said. "Development projects in the region are increasing; the FGCC chambers would like to set up some kind of cooperation among its members - the private business sector - in order to gain strategic advantages for all," Naqi added.
