At least 200 people were injured in Bangladesh on Tuesday as thousands of students armed with bricks and broken bottles battled with a combined security force of the police and the army on a university campus at the heart of the capital Dhaka, officials and witnesses said according to DPA. The clashes erupted when students torched a bus on the campus of Dhaka University demanding the removal of an army camp from the university premises. Some half a dozen policemen were also injured in the running street battles as rioting students smashed billboards and passing cars, stopping traffic in the city for more than six hours. The army camp was set up on the campus following the declaration of a state of emergency amidst political turmoil in January.
