At least four people were killed and 15 others wounded in attacks in southern Somalia, AP quoted police and eyewitnesses as saying on Wednesday. Col. Abdi Wahid, a police spokesman, said a civilian was killed and two government soldiers were wounded when an unidentified man threw a hand grenade at a top military official in the south of the capital, Mogadishu. In a separate incident, three unidentified men armed with pistols fired into the air then shot dead two civilians at Mogadishu's main Bakara market before opening fire to cover their escape, said businessman Abdi Haji Dalel. In Afgoye, a town 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) south of the capital, two men threw a grenade at government soldiers collecting taxes at a busy livestock market, said Mohamed Ali Yare, a trader at the market. A soldier was killed and 13 others were wounded. Elsewhere in southern Mogadishu, a land mine blew up a vehicle carrying government troops. The casualties were unclear, said eyewitness Liban Ahmed.
