A quadripartite meeting, representing Palestine, Jordan, Japan and Israel will convened here later today primarily aiming to strengthening the Palestinian economy. Palestinian sources said the meeting will be attended by Dr. Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian official responsible for negotiations file; Tzipi Livni, the Israeli Foreign Minister; Abdelelah Al-Khatib, the Jordanian Foreign Minister and Taro Aso, the Japanese Foreign Minister. The meeting will focus on setting up an industrial zone in the city of Jericho for the export of agricultural products across the new airport which would be built in this region to Jordan and from there to the Gulf. The sources said the draft entitled "Corridor of Peace" financed by Japan will create an industrial and agricultural zone, build warehouses to store the exported Palestinian products in the Palestinian side. It will also lead to undertaking the development of Dameyah bridge, which is assigned for carrying goods and the development of a runway, an airport air cargo on the Jordanian side. The sources pointed out that the project was an initiative of the Japanese government to help the Palestinian people to develop their economy. These economic projects linked through a border corridor, will provide job opportunities for thousands of Palestinian manpower.
