The top US law enforcement officer visited Baghdad on Saturday for talks with US and Iraqi officials, including Americans who are helping rebuild Iraq's legal system, according to DPA. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, one of US President George W Bush's most trusted cabinet members, was met by US General David Petraeus, the multinational force commander in Iraq, the Justice Department in Washington said. He was also due to meet US Ambassador Ryan Crocker, Justice Department personnel in Iraq, Iraqi Supreme Court president Medhat al-Mahmoud and the country's human rights and interior ministers. About 300 US government legal experts are helping train Iraqis in law enforcement, including prosecutors, police officers and prison officials, the Justice Department said. It was Gonzales' third visit to Iraq.
