US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Japanese Defence Minister Yuriko Koike Thursday for talks on defence cooperation between the two countries, according to dpa. Rice and Koike also discussed the war on terrorism and Japan's supportive role in Afghanistan, US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said. They also discussed the basing of US forces in Japan, McCormack said.
