The death toll of floods and landslifes which hit Central Sulawesi`s Morowali district in the past two weeks has risen to 67 people, ANTARA reported. Coordinator of Central Sualwesi`s Natural Disaster Mitigation Command Post (Satkolak - PBA) Lt. Col. Alfred Rantetandung at Mutiar airport here said that rescue workers had lifted four more bodies from muds on Friday, adding the number of death toll to 67 people. The bodies were lifted by rescuers grouped in a military-police joint team at 4pm local time. The victims were identified as Samsia (11), Abaria (9), Anisa (17) and Sintia (1.5). They were residents of Eeruru village, Bungku subdistrict, Morowali. With the discovery of the four bodies, the number of dead victims had rose to 67, who were residents of three subdistricts, namely Mamosalato, Joyo Jaya and Bungu Utara. There were still 18 victims who were still missing and 53 who were still hopitalized. The number of refugees who still stayed in a number temporary makeshifts totalled 3,356. Rantetandung said that humanitarian assistance, such as medicines, foods and clothing had been flowing smoothly to the victims. "There is no major barriers in the distribution of relief assistance to the victims," Rantetandung said.
