Afghan Peace Jirga is: (i) Strengthening of bilateral relations on the basis of good-neighbourliness, respect for territorial integrity and non-interference in each other s internal affairs. Appraisal of factors and circumstances which contribute to the growth of terrorism and militancy. (iii) Devising a bilateral mechanism to combat terrorism through cooperation and joint strategy. (iv) Agreeing to deny sanctuary, training and financing to terrorists and to elements involved in subversive and anti state activities in each other s country and to initiate immediate action on specific intelligence exchanges in this regard. (v) Working out an effective mechanism to tackle the alarming and increase in poppy cultivation, processing and trafficking in both countries and the underlying connection between terrorism drug trafficking and organized crime in the region and the need for concerted efforts to combat these menaces. (vi) Enhancing goodwill and creating further confidence building measures and mechanisms, including through interaction between political representatives, civil society, academicians, media and sports and cultural links. (vii) Agreeing on a bilateral mechanism comprising of an adequate number of members from each side to meet periodically to facilitate implementation of the decisions and recommendations made by the Jirga and discuss any other related issue.
