Danish broadcasters said Wednesday they had no plans to drop their coverage of the Tour de France, unlike broadcasters in neighbouring Germany who suspended their live coverage over a suspected doping case involving a German rider, according to dpa. "We are not changing anything. But if viewers don't want to watch it then there this is no reason to broadcast and we will of course discontinue," Flemming Meier, head of TV2 sports division, told news agency Ritzau. Meier said he could not currently envisage what sort of event would contribute to a decision to stop broadcasting the race. TV2 broadcasts live from the Tour and has done so for the past 18 years. Each evening, public broadcaster DR broadcasts highlights from the Tour and the stage that day. DR sports head Olav Skaaning Andersen said the broadcaster planned to continue news coverage of the classic race. --spa
