Sri Lankan soldiers clashed with Tamil Tiger rebels in the country's north, leaving 10 troops dead, while warplanes pounded a rebel camp with air strikes, the military said. The fighting erupted when soldiers attacked and neutralized a rebel mortar position from where they were firing at government troops in Vavuniya district, said military spokesman Brig. Prasad Samarasinghe, according to a report of the Associated Press.
