Saudi Aramco's corporate profile was raised in the international arena of higher education recently as Aramco Services Co. (ASC) served as a key sponsor, exhibitor and host at the 2007 NAFSA: Association of International Educators conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the United States. NAFSA is an acronym from the organization's original name. The five-day event drew nearly 8,500 delegates and is among the most important annual gatherings in the field of foreign student placement, according to a report carried by Saudi Aramco's web-site. The conference, under the theme, “Preparing Global Citizens,” stressed the urgency to equip future leaders with international skills. Such an emphasis was clearly on target for Saudi Aramco, whose sponsorship of thousands of young Saudi scholars over the years has yielded graduates with the training necessary to thrive in one of the world's most technology-driven industries. --MORE
