PRINCE SAUD AL-FAISAL SHEDS LIGHT ON IRANIAN NUCLEAR ISSUE

PRINCE SAUD AL-FAISAL, THE FOREIGN MINISTER, SAID THE GCC MEMBER STATES DO RESPECT THE ARTICLES OF THE INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS PERTAINING TO NON-PROLIFERATION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS.
ADDRESSING A PRESS CONFERENCE HERE LAST NIGHT, PRINCE SAUD HOPED THAT THE IRANIAN NUCLEAR ISSUE WOULD BE SETTLED THROUGH PEACEFUL MEANS.
PRINCE SAUD, WHO WAS SPEAKING AFTER THE END OF THE MEETING OF THE GCC MINISTERIAL COUNCIL, SAID THE VISIT OF THE ARAB LEAGUE'S SECRETARY GENERAL AMR MOUSA TO SAUDI ARABIA AND SYRIA NEXT WEEK COMES WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ONGOING EFFORTS TO SETTLE THE LEBANESE PROBLEM.
PRINCE SAUD NOTED THAT THE GCC MINISTERIAL COUNCIL AT ITS MEETING HERE YESTERDAY DID NOT DISCUSS THE QATARI INITIATIVE FOR THE SETTLEMENT OF THE PROBLEM OF REBELLION IN YEMEN.
PRINCE SAUD REITERATED THAT THE GCC LEADERS WILL REMAIN CONCERNED ABOUT ANY DEVELOPMENT THAT MIGHT LEAD TO ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION IN THE GULF REGION. HE NOTED THAT PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES WILL BE TAKE IN THIS RESPECT, AND ADDED THAT CONTINUOUS COORDINATION EXISTS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL AMONG THE GULF STATES IN THIS REGARD.
ON THE OTHER HAND, PRINCE SAUD CONFIRMED THAT THE SAUDI OFFICIALS ARE NOT PLANNING TO MEETS ISRAELI OFFICIALS, AND SAID 'WE WILL CONTINUE TO PROTEST AGAINST ISRAEL'S PRACTICES THAT DON'T LEAD TO PEACE.
