US aircraft maker Boeing Co on Thursday said deliveries for the second quarter rose to 114, and also announced new orders for its new 787 Dreamliner jet, according to dpa. Plane deliveries were at their highest level since the end of 2001 and up from 97 in the second quarter of 2006, the Chicago-based company said. For the first half of 2007, Boeing delivered 220 planes, up from 195 the year before. Boeing also said it had received an order for an extra five 787 Dreamliners from US plane-leasing firm CIT Aerospace, at a total cost of 810 million dollars. CIT, a subsidiary of financial firm CIT Group Inc, had already requested five of the new models which are set to be unveiled on Sunday. The world's second-largest planemaker said it expects to fulfil between 440 and 445 plane orders over the whole of 2007.
