Flooded areas of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas were expecting more heavy rains on Thursday as residents tried to dry out after weeks of downpours, forecasters said, according to dpa. The National Weather Service warned of possible flash floods across Texas, and forecasters at the Weather Channel said some areas could get between 3 and 5 inches of rain on Thursday. Flooding had caused thousands to be evacuated from their homes in the central US states, and 11 deaths in Texas were attributed to the storms.
