Olli Heinonen, chief inspector of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is to visit Iran next month to clarify ambiguities over Iran's nuclear projects, the Iranian envoy to the IAEA, Ali-Asqar Soltanieh, said Saturday. The visit by Heinonen and a number of other IAEA officials is to take place July 11 to 13, the ISNA news agency quoted Soltanieh as saying. Following the IAEA visit, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani is to hold another meeting with European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana, Soltanieh said. The visit of the IAEA team is part of an agreement reached last week between Larijani and IAEA head Mohamed ElBaradei which was reportedly also welcomed by Solana during his meeting with Larijani last Monday in Lisbon. Larijani and ElBaradei had agreed to draw a plan of action upon which Iran would oblige itself to clarify all remaining technical ambiguities to the IAEA and later settle the political aspects of the nuclear dispute with Solana. Solana and Larijani are to meet again in mid-July but the exact date and venue were not yet clear.
