Police closed a major road in central London on Friday because of a suspicious vehicle, hours after defusing a car laden with explosives. Police said they had closed Park Lane, on Hyde Park's east side, to investigate a suspicious vehicle. A police spokeswoman said a 200 meter (655 feet) restriction area was being set up around the vehicle, The Associated Press reported. «They're just looking at it at the moment,» the spokeswoman said, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with policy. She said she did not know if the vehicle's driver was still in the car. Sky News said the vehicle was believed to be an open-topped tourist bus. Police said there was no indication that the two incidents were linked.
