AL-SHEIKH, JUNE 27, SPA -- THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ HELD HERE LAST NIGHT TALKS WITH EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT HOSNI MUBARAK. THEY REVIEWED THE DEVELOPMENTS AT THE ARAB, ISLAMIC AND INTERNATIONAL ARENAS, NOTABLY THE DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST. PRESIDENT MUBARAK BRIEFED KING ABDULLAH ON THE OUTCOME OF THE QUARTET SUMMIT HELD ON MONDAY IN SHARAM-AL-SHEIKH. THE TWO LEADERS ALSO REVIEWED THE SITUATION IN LEBANON, AND VOICED ANXIETY OVER THE CONTINUATION OF TENSION IN LEBANON. THEY HOPED THAT THE LEBANESE PEOPLE WOULD TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE HIGHER INTERESTS OF THEIR COUNTRY. THE TWO LEADERS URGED THE LEBANESE PEOPLE TO POSITIVELY RESPOND WITH THE OFFER PRESENTED BY THE ARAB LEAGUE'S SECRETARY GENERAL, WHO IS ALSO THE HEAD OF THE COMMITTEE FORMED BY THE EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF THE ARAB FOREIGN MINISTERS. THE TALKS OF THE TWO LEADERS ALSO COVERED THE SITUATION IN IRAQ, THE NUCLEAR ISSUE AS WELL AS MEANS FOR CLEARING THE ARAB ATMOSPHERE AND IMPLEMENTING THE RESOLUTIONS ADOPTED BY RIYADH ARAB SUMMIT. MEANWHILE, MUBARAK HELD A DINNER PARTY IN HONOR OF KING ABDULLAH AND THE ACCOMPANYING DELEGATION. THE DINNER PARTY WAS ATTENDED BY EGYPTIAN PREMIER DR AHMAD NAZEEF, MINISTERS AND A NUMBER OF SENIOR OFFICIALS.
