Gale force winds and rain have killed at least 43 people in the Pakistani city of Karachi, it was reported Sunday. Dozens of others were hurt by falling billboards, downed power lines and uprooted trees, UPI quoted BBC News as saying. Karachi residents were already suffering from power cuts in the city that had led to riots. The weekend rain flooded much of the city, blocked the main roads with debris and washed away many homes in the shanty towns, the BBC said.
