Huge waves again hit Pesisir Selatan district in West Sumatra on Saturday turning two fishermen`s boats upside down but the four fishermen on the boats were saved. "The boats were of the longtail type, one with three fishermen on board and the other with only one fisherman aboard," the district administration spokesman, Sabrul Bayang, told ANTARA News. He said the fishermen who left the night before were just fishing in waters off Surantiah sub district and around Aur island in the Painan Strait when huge waves hit them causing their boats to capsize. The four fishermen were drifting on buoys before patrol boats KM Napoleon and KM Dolphin rescued them, ANTARA reported. Huge waves have in the past week swept Pesisir Selatan waters causing six boat incidents and 13 fishermen sill remained missing until now because of the incidents. The district head, Nasrul Abit, had appealed to fishermen to stop fishing for the time being to avoid further incidents after the incidents that occured on Monday. In case the fishermen had to go fishing in order to meet their families` food supply he had called on them to be alert and careful. "However if the weather is really bad they had better cancel it," he said. He had also called on the people living in coastal areas to be alert and not to let their children to play on the beach without guards.
