A suspected Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) military commander arrested last week, Abu Dujana, named ageing preacher Abu Bakar Ba'asyir as former leader of the terrorist network, local media reported on Saturday, according to dpa. "Jemaah (JI) was led by Abu Bakar Ba'asyir from 2000 to 2002," Abu Dujana was shown on a tape during a press conference with the Indonesian national police, The Jakarta post reported. Indonesian counter-terrorism police detained Abu Dujana, a senior military commander of JI, in Banyumas, Central Java, last Saturday. Just hours later, they captured another top JI leader, who is believed to be JI's "emir", Zarkasih, in Yogyakarta province. Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, however, has consistently denied involvement in terrorism and says he is being victimized because he campaigns for the introduction of strict Islamic law in Indonesia. -- SPA
