Jordanian official sources announced here today the formation of a Higher Committee to organize the celebration of Al-Quds city as the Arab Cultural capital in 2009. The sources of the Jordanian Ministry said that the decision to arrange festivities for the city emanated from a directive issued by a recent meeting of the Council of the Arab Ministers of Culture in Muscat to consider Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the Arab Cultural Capital. The Higher committee will finalize a visionary perspective of activities and determine the estimated cost of these celebrations which will be held in different Arab states' capital cities, the Sources added.
