The Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft, landed in Taiwan for the first time today as part of its promotional tour in Asia. According to the dpa, the jumbo jet landed at the Taoyuan International Airport outside Taipei in rain, watched by exited eporters and aircraft fans who clicked cameras to catch this historical moment. Taiwan is one of the stops in the A380 World Tour 2007. In Asia, the A380 visited Tokyo and Sydney after leaving Paris on June 3. The A380 will leave Taipei and fly back to Toulouse, France, on June 10. "Airbus is very pleased and honoured to have A380 landed today at the Taoyuan International Airport to show this latest-technology aircraft to our friends from Taiwan airlines and aviation industry," said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer - Customer, at the press conference after the A380's arrival. -- SPA
